Background
Nic was born and raised in Erie County, Ohio. He is a 1997 Graduate of Saint Mary's Catholic School. In 2001, he obtained his B.A. from Kent State University where he majored in Political Science and then went on to attached Cleveland Marshall Law to obtain his J.D. in 2005. Throughout his time at Cleveland Marshall, he worked as Assistant/Associate Editor of the Law Review. Background
Nic's career in the legal field began around 2005 while working alongside his father, William H. Smith, Jr. (retired 2021) at Smith & Lehrer Co., L.P.A. Throughout this time, he also worked part time at the Erie County Prosecutors Office.
In addition to the above, Nic has worked as a Board Member for the Erie County Board of Elections, Bar Counsel for the Erie-Huron-Ottawa Grievance Committee. Most recently, Nic was elected as Erie County's next Recorder and will be sworn into office in 2025.
In his free time, Nic enjoys spending time with his wife, two daughters and two dogs. On occasion, you will get to meet Nic's dogs as they love to come to work with him.

Background
Sam was born and raised in Sandusky, Ohio and is a graduate of Sandusky Central Catholic School. After high school, Sam attended Bowling Green State University and while there, interned with the Columbus Blue Jackets of the NHL. Background
After graduating from BGSU, Sam went to The University of Toledo to obtain his Juris Doctorate. While in law school, Sam interned with the City of Toledo Prosecutors Office and was apart of the Moot Court Team who competed in Vienna, Austria and New Orleans, Louisiana. After passing the bar, Sam worked as an Associate Attorney at Smith & Lehrer Co., L.P.A. and as an Assistant Prosecutor in Erie County for several years. Sam became partner of Smith & Sidoti, LLC in 2022.
Sam continues to reside in Sandusky, Ohio with his wife and three children.
